I recently paid it off. What should I sell it for? How much should I expect to get out of it? The car has been adult driven always and never beat on. Please be specific and list reasons for your answers. Thanks!|||$18,999.99

hey mark ive already answered one of your questions earlier|||I would sell your car for $20K and park your car in a traveled part of town. Decide how long you want to wait for bids to come in, then start knocking $500 off the price at a time if it doesn't sell. I wouldn't go any lower than $16,500.

Now that we have a President that wants transparency in Government, should I run for office again?

I've run for public office once and I almost won. I'd definitely have won had I ever left my laptop and did any campaigning. I literally took 40% of the vote in my local county running an electronic campaign. I did not do any real campaigning because I didn't really want to win and work anywhere near the Bush crowd of idiots. But now, well, we have what appears to be a sincere president and confidence in government could very well be restored. I would like to help and I am the type of person who does not betray public trust. Should I take another crack at it and take charge of my little area on the map?

PS. I am certain that the USA Federal Government was behind 9/11 and would like to eventually hang or otherwise have executed, those involved in the act and the cover-up.|||Yes, since he wants transparency you definitely should -- everyone would be able to see right through you.|||If I were in your community, and heard that you wasted voters' time running in an election that you "didn't really want to win", I would be outraged.

You say you didn't want to work anywhere near "idiots", which tells me that you don't have the drive or desire to work hard and stand up for what's right.|||If you actually believe Obama's crap about "transparency", you don't need to be in public office.

As I read your question/statement, I am, once again, seeing a left wing liberal who believed only the slanted reporting of the liberal media and the leadership of his party.

Bush and his "crowd" were not the idiots you claim them to be and actually ran a fairly good program until the liberals conned the populace into again giving them control of both houses of congress. It was your Democrat cronies who certified that Fannie and Freddie were being competently managed by "honest" CEO's and that the reservations expressed by Bush, et al, were groundless.

As for your "certainty" about the 9/11 attacks. You must be demented and I would recommend you get some serious professional help.

How are Filipinos viewed in Sweden?

The Philippines (Filipino: Pilipinas) officially known as the Republic of the Philippines, is a country in Southeast Asia in the western Pacific Ocean. To its north across the Luzon Strait lies Taiwan. To its west across the South China Sea is Vietnam. The Sulu Sea to the southwest separates it from the island of Borneo and to the south the Celebes Sea from other islands of Indonesia. It is bounded on the east by the Philippine Sea. An archipelago comprising 7,107 islands, the Philippines has the 5th longest coastline in the world. The islands are categorized broadly into three main geographical divisions: Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. The capital city is Manila.

With an estimated population of about 92 million people, the Philippines is the world's 12th most populous country. It is estimated that there are about 11 million overseas Filipinos worldwide, equivalent to about 11% of the total population of the Philippines. Multiple ethnicities and cultures are found throughout the islands. Ecologically, the Philippines with its tropical climate is one of the most diverse countries in the world.

Its national economy is the 47th largest in the world, with an estimated 2008 gross domestic product (GDP nominal) of over US$ 166.9 billion (nominal). Primary exports include semiconductors and electronic products, transport equipment, garments, copper products, petroleum products, coconut oil, and fruits. Major trading partners include China, Japan, the United States, Singapore, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Thailand, and Malaysia. Its unit of currency is the Philippine peso (PHP).

In ancient times the archipelago was populated by successive waves of Austronesian peoples who brought with them influences from Malay, Hindu, and Islamic cultures. Trade introduced Chinese cultural influences. The arrival of Ferdinand Magellan in 1521 marked the beginning of an era of Spanish interest and eventually dominance. The Philippines became the Asian hub of the Manila-Acapulco galleon treasure fleet. Christianity became widespread and there was a brief British occupation. As the 19th century gave way to the 20th, there followed in quick succession the short-lived Philippine Revolution, the Spanish-American War, and the Philippine-American War. In the aftermath, the United States replaced Spain as the dominant power. Aside from the period of Japanese occupation, the United States retained sovereignty over the islands until the end of World War II when the Philippines gained independence. The United States bequeathed to the Philippines the English language and its democratic presidential system of government. Since independence the Philippines has had an often tumultuous experience with democracy, with popular "People Power" movements overthrowing a dictatorship in one instance but also underlining the institutional weaknesses of its constitutional republic in others.

Religion

Majority of Filipinos鈥攁bout 83% of the national population鈥攁re Roman Catholics. The religion was introduced to the natives by the Spanish colonizers in the 16th century. About 95% of the people are considered Christians, more than in any Asian country. Thus, the Philippines is considered the only Christian country in Asia.

The Philippine Constitution guarantees freedom of worship. Every Filipino can choose which organized religion to join. Protestants, Muslims (especially in the South), and members of other minor religions can openly practice their faith.

Language

The Philippines has two official languages, Filipino and English. Filipino is based primarily on the Tagalog language. Most Filipinos are either bilingual or trilingual. About 70 native languages are spoken all over the archipelago.

1996 mirage engine problems?

I have a 1996 mitsubishi mirage car. About a month ago it started with some engine problems which have been tried to be solved by diffrent mechanics. An electronic mechanic identified the problem as being the oxygen sensor, it was replaced, then the problem came back identifying the problem as tha MAP sensor, it was replaced all this problems supposedly identified thru computer testing. Already high expenses, then locall mechanic changed water pump, belt, sprks wiring, seals etc. The car started running fine for a week but then the haunting came back, now the car does not idle when stopping at a light or in a traffic jam. Looked everywhere for answers but no luck. Really need help don't have enough money to keep spending I'm unemployed and need someone to help me hit the target of this problem. I'll be most grateful of some good samaritan to just give me a good answer.

Thank you very much

What is a good program for writing/recording drum tracks?

I am trying to be able to write, record and produce my own music(all styles from metal and rock to electronic and jazz) and I need a good drum machine. I'm going to need a program that lets me do all of the following:

(I don't know how any of this works, so if I sound like a total newbie/amateur I apologize haha)

- Make a full track/song available for playback

- Map out exactly which drum hits on each beat, from quarter notes to 32nd notes

- Change time signature and tempo randomly throughout the project/playback and at different measures

- To be able to record and export these beats to my other recording software to play my instruments over

The delivery estimate was Sept. 25, but it didn't arrive...even though it should have been here yesterday according to the delivery estimate. Of course, it doesn't say it's "delivered" yet. But that's a little interesting that I live right beside Atlanta and it was technically there by the 23rd in what they call "North Metro, GA". I am not familiar with that term anywhere in Georgia, and upon looking it up on a map, it's not a real city/town. Instead, it's considered multiple cities in varying locations up to 20+ miles away from each other on north, east and west sides of the state.

USPS seems to take forever to update their tracking information. No update to the info in 3 days. Is this common for USPS?|||Sure, but it looks like this is the USPS issue this time.

Amazon goofs up a lot though|||I've never had a problem with Amazon but I use the UK version. If anything, they deliver early most of the time.

After 15 years of sleep deprivation ,I found out how it work ....this is how:

HORRIFING TECHNOLOGY CALLED RNM REMOTE NEURAL MONITORING RNM WHICH IS BEING ABUSED TO TORTURE INOCCENT AMERICAN ILLEGALLY AND I AM ONE OF THEM FOR THE PAST 15 YEARS..IT IS DONE BY THE NATIONAL SECUIRITY AGENCY.possibly other gov. agencies cia/fbi..It work by reading the the electronic magnetic signal from your brain ,decoding it and then sending EMF Brain stimulation by sending a completely coded and pulsed electromagnetic signal to trigger evoked potentials (events) in the brain, thereby forming sound and visual images in the brains' neural circuits. EMF Brain Stimulation can also change a person's brain-states and affect motor control.WHAT IS MORE SCARY IS THAT THE TORTURE CENTER ON SLEEP DEPRIVATION BY LITTERALY IDOITS WHO TRY TO ACHEIVE THE IMPOSSIBLE.

I listen to lots of different types of music, but lately I've been into electronic type songs, but more ambient like. Does anyone know any songs that sound like these groups or sounds like any of these songs that I like.

The songs I like are:

M83-We own the sky and Don't save us from the flames

Mum-We have a map of the piano, Green grass of tunnel, and The islands of childrens children

ISAN-Cathart

Duo 505-Feel the pain|||Isan and Mum are brilliant. Such great tunes.

Definitely check out Ulrich Schnauss. His first two albums ("Far Away Trains Passing By" and "A Strangely Isolated Place") are essential for anyone into that type of music. You will love them.

Helios makes really nice music. "Halving The Compass", "Come With Nothings" and "Sons Of Light And Darkness" are his best tracks in my opinion, but a lot of his other songs are individually beautiful too.

"Tangled Wool" by Xela is another similar album that is amazing. Really nice acoustic guitar sounds mixed with electronics. Perfect chilling music. You might also like his first album "For Frosty Mornings And Summer Nights". It's a bit more electronic - orientated, but is still quite warm sounding at the same time.

"Grey Scale" and "Endless Summer" by Fennesz are timeless tracks.

"Homecoming" by Machinefabriek and Peter Broderick is a crucial tune in that genre.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3bhiAw0F鈥?/a>

"Guitar Interrupt" by Christian Kleine is really nice. It's on Youtube somewhere. You might also enjoy his "Firn" EP. "Valis" is a great album by him too.

"It's So Funny How We Don't Talk Anymore" by The Remote Viewer is a good one. A lot of their work is really nice.

"I Could Not Love You More" by Rameses III is an almost perfect album.

"Hopes And Past Desires" by Rafael Anton Irisarri is definitely worth listening to. Chihei Hatakeyama, Jasper TX, Minamo, Fourcolor, Relmic Statute, Manual and Marahiko Hara are other names worth trying within that genre.

What is my job title? seriously please help!?

I work for an electronic residential mortgage document ordering loan company. I think what I do is call data analyst or business analyst but not sure. Here is what I do. I map data such as borrowers name, property address, loan amount, interest rate and anything that has to do with mortgage loan into the word document itself using xml spy and I believe dos application. Example on a Deed of Trust(DOT) or a Mortgage document, where all the infomation that would be type in or fill in by the lender, borrower, title company and etc. would actually be fill in through what I did using xml spy and dos application. Does this make sense? I am just not sure if they are other jobs like this.

89 c-1500 with 4.3 won't stay running?

ok the truck will start but the only way to keep it running is to pump the gas, but when i hold the gas the motor will bog down until i let up on the gas then it dyes if i don't keep pumping it. i put in new intake gaskets, new vacuum lines i replaced : TPS, MAP, idle air control valve, new gaskets in the TBI, pick up coil, ignition control module, cap, rotor, wires, plugs, EGR solenoid, cleaned the EGR valve, knock sensor, engine coolant temp sensor, all filters, and the ECM. the only things i haven't replaced are: electronic spark control module( still factory one) , fuel pump. when i replaced the intake gaskets and put the timing back to 0 degree BTDC and then plugged in the timing bypass wire, the truck ran awesome.then two days after, i stopped at a stop light when taking off from the stop it started to surge and hesitate, so i dropped the gas tank to put a new strainer in, i also took the TBI off to put new gaskets in and screens for the injectors. After i did that i started to have the problem i told u about . i get no SES light. i also took every ground wire off and clean them. i have no idea what to do now. new truck is out of the question.

PLEASE HELP|||Wow you've been shooting in the dark, did you ever check your fuel pressure? Do that first. Your fuel pressure regulator may be your problem, if it is stuck open you want have enough fuel pressure. Also check your fuel pump relay, just in case, usually they will not start are vary hard to start if the relay goes bad, they are designed to work on a bypass circuit when a specified oil pressure is reached, once started they will run but not necessarily very well. One more thing, has the setting on you tps moved, make sure it is set correctly. Have you got good exhaust flow, if not a clogged cat could be the cause, if your blowing black smoke your too rich which goes back to fuel pressure or injectors. make sure you have everything connected properly a once more over won't hurt.|||just for s's and g's i would look at the egr valve again. make sure you didn't loosen something up (while cleaning) that came loose two days later and is sticking the valve open. good luck!

Can you recommend any good music?

I've spent most of the last 5 years living abroad, so I've been really out of touch with the music scene, now im just looking for some good band.

So anything but country and rap I'll give a try, I like rock, metal, glam, goth, punk darkwave, electronic, even a little emo or pop music is good now and then.

A small sample of bands I like,

These are all Japanese (spent a few years there)

Dir en grey, D'espairsRay, Moi Dix Mois, Penicillin, Malice Mizer, X-Japan, Asian Kung-Fu Generation, B'Z, Schwarz Stein and Kaya

Thee non Japanese ones,

Nightwish, within temptation, evanescence, Tarja, Lacuna Coil, Avenged sevenfold, Marilyn Manson, AFI, My Chemical Romance, Korn, Alice Cooper, Motley Crue, Blaqk audio, Muse, Nine Inch Nails, Sixx: A.M. Smashing Pumpkins, Adam Lambert, and Lady Gaga聽

Very random I know i'm all over the map. So you see anything missing that I must have?

Please no music purist who only like "real music" 聽 聽聽|||Here's just what I like.... I copied and pasted it from my youtube so :P

Marilyn Manson, Mercyful Fate, Bauhaus, Black Flag, Undercover Slut, A.F.I, David Bowie, The Cramps, The Misfits, Screamin' Jay Hawkins, W.A.S.P., KMFDM, System of a Down, Abba, Propagandhi, Nine Inch Nails, The Descendants, Lords of the New Church, Skinny Puppy, KISS, Pink Floyd, LEd Zeppelin, Population Reduction, Wake Up On Fire, Wake the Machines, Voetsek, Unholy Grave, Magrudergrind, Alice in Chains, Alice Cooper, Amebix, Black Sabbath, The Dickies, The Beatles, Croliner, Catch 22, Streetlight Manifesto, No Cops for Miles, The Cure, The Communion, Deftones, Depeche Mode, Edith Piaf, Fall of Efrafa, The Germs, Godsmack, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Iggy Pop, Iron Maiden, Within Temptation, Slipknot, The Ramones, KORN, MC Chris, MC5, Megadeth, Metallica, Nirvana, No Ca$h, Ozzy, Rob Zombie, White Zombie, Johnny Cash (??) Her album "The ArchAndroid" has so many genres ranging from rock to jazz. What I love even more is that she doesn't add the "145 extra note treatment" to her vocals like many african american singers do. Even Christina Aguilera does it. And no that's not racist, so please don't say it is.|||You're into Motley Crue and Alice Cooper? Nice, two of my favourite bands. If you like those bands then you might like listening to KISS, Queen, Guns N Roses, Rolling Stones, Ramones, Sex Pistols, New York Dolls, Runaways.|||if u like some asian song, maybe u would like Super Junior (korean boy band). Scar Symmetry: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mebSi4PDC34

Solution .45: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fXJxtp8inWg

Soilwork: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TcKoqGKuz6U

Disarmonia Mundi: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rcYpwKc1CB8

Dark Tranquility: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZqfH1LQEOQ

MyGrain: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iWIKOpIpabk

Mercenary: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7pFzVo3mZsA

Satariel: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IfHs4FDLGYE

DevilDriver: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-FUAYez3nY4

I would advise you to listen to each song in it's entirety, or at least wait until the chorus, 8 out of 9 of these bands intergrate clean vocals (singing) into their songs as well as Death Growl vocals. DevilDriver is the only band on the list that isn't Melodic Death metal and they very rarely use clean vocals, they are Groove Metal, but they are still melodic.

NOTE: Mercenary used to have a different lead vocalist and Scar symmetry have 2 new vocalists, the vocalist in the Scar Symmetry video (Christian Alvestam) is no longer a member of the band and is now the vocalist for Solution .45, he has been replaced by Roberth Karlsson (death growl vocals) and Lars Palmqvist (clean vocals), and the vocalist in the mercenary song is Rene Pedersen who used to play bass as well as contribute backing vocals in previous Mercenary albums, he now plays bass and sings both death growls and clean vocals, he has replaced former lead vocalist Mikkel Sandager.

Here's a link showing a music video of a song containing the new Scar Symmetry vocalists:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XeJ01A28qS8

I can't have more than 10 links in my answer, Yahoo Answers won't let me, so I can't show you the former Mercenary vocalist, but if you're interested go to youtube and type in "My World Is Ending".

These bands are about as melodic as Metal gets.|||eminem,shinee(korean boy band),big bang(korean boy band),brown eyed seoul,hichkas%26amp;yas(persian rappers),taylor swift,justin bieber,mj,celine dion ,akon,DJ aligator,...............................鈥?/div>

How long would an object such as a planet stay in view on a telescope such as Zhumell Z10 Deluxe Dobson?

I am debating whether to buy an electronic Celestron NexStar 8 SE telescope because of the constant tracking. However, I do like the Zhumell Z10 Deluxe Dobsonian Ultimate because it will have a 10" mirror and is cheaper. I do not have a problem with spending some time searching the exact location of galaxies, planets ext as I do have Google sky map on my cell phone to at least point me in the right direction. I was just wondering how long such objects would stay in view after finding planets, galaxies, ext. Then I will decide whether constant tracking is for me.|||Get the 10". Yes, you will need to nudge the scope to counter act the earth's rotation, but the views are worth it. One thing that will help you located objects is to get a telrad.

http://www.backyard-astro.com/equipment/鈥?/a>

how long an image will stay in view is a function of your eyepieces field of view. The earth rotates at 15 degrees an hour. If your eyepiece has a field of view of 1 degree, the object will take about 4 minutes to cross from on side to the eyepiece to the other.

15/60 = 0.25 degrees per minute. 0.25 * 4 = 1 degree.

http://www.telescope.com/catalog/product鈥?/a>

http://www.astro.shoregalaxy.com/index_0鈥?/a>|||Tracking with a Dob becomes second nature to most people within about 5 minutes of using a Dob. The actual length of time an object stays in view depends on the magnification and field of view. It's about a minute at low power, perhaps 15 seconds at high power. Because there are no locks or slow motions, it becomes an almost continuous smooth action. I was highly dubious about Dobs after years of using motorized scopes, but found I adapted to it quickly, and actually converted one of my equatorially mounted telescopes to a Dob.|||On my XT10 the views are roughly:

25mm- Objects stay in view for about 30 seconds.

Alternatively if you use a higher magnification eyepiece, objects leave view Much faster.

9mm- 7-10 seconds.

These are just rough approximations. I will go out tonight and let you know more exact times then. (But I'm sure that there has to be a website that has the info).|||Hi. You do understand that the motion is related to Earth's motion and not the object. The amount of time an object stays in the field of view is determined by the magnification of the scope. It the field of view were, say, 30 minutes of arc then the object would take about a minute to traverse the field.|||The eye-piece in use determines the field of view, which

determines the time you ask for without a 'clock drive'.|||The time you can observe without nudging the Dob will depend on the eyepiece. A wide-field, low power ep will allow a few minutes of not nudging. As you increase the magnification.. your field of view quickly shrinks..! The NextStar 8 will make observing a joy. No need to keep nudging.. and you can easily locate many objects - quickly.

The main thing is - do yo have a quite dark sky where you will observe..? And do you ONLY want to look at/for the 'faint fuzzies'..? Or - if you have a sort of dark site..? And if you want to see really sharp %26amp; clear detail on the moon.. and quite a bit on the planets - the 8" NextStar will be your pick.

Either way, have fun..!!|||The amount of time a star, planet or other object will stay in view will depend on three factors:

1. The apparent field of view of your eyepiece

2. The focal lengths of your eyepiece and your telescope objective mirror. (this is two factors which determine your scope magnification. Divide the objective focal length by the eyepiece focal length to find magnification.

Now, divide the apparent field of view of the eyepiece by the magnification to find the true field of view.

Worst case, an object near the celestial equator, you can divide the true field of view by 15 degrees per hour by the true field of view (or 0.25 degrees per minute) to find the time. If you were looking at Polaris, you would find it nearly stays stationary, so multiply by the cosine of the declination of the object to find its own angular rate.

I built a 10" Dobsonian scope with an F4 (or 1000 mm focal length) mirror. My typical eyepiece has about a 60 degree apparent field of view. Say I use one with a 10 mm focal length -- 100 magnification (power). Then my true field of view is 0.6 degrees, a bit larger than the full moon.

If watching the moon when it is at the celestial equator, it will stay visible for at most two minutes -- and actually only part of the moon would be visible that long.

More magnification, faster apparent motion.

Now, fix this with an equatorial platform like I built, which rotates my telescope to compensate for the rotation of the Earth --- see below, follow the links to the pages about my equatorial platform.|||I have an Orion xt10 which is very similar and when I look at saturn at 400x it goes by in probably 4 seconds, but you can see awesome detail if you have very clear skies. At 200x it lasts at least 8 seconds and at 40x and 80x it barely moves. It's takes a few tries and sometimes a few minutes to find it at 400x though but it gets much easier after you get a method. Saturn is the only planet I have seen since I got my scope but I am definitely happy with the 10 inch reflector I have.

Fuel Capacity: 4.8 gallons, including 0.9-gallon reserve|||both bikes are great machines... you need to go sit on both of them and see which one YOU like better. performance-wise, they are practically identical. if this is for a first bike i really wouldnt recommend it, too much power. be safe, be smart.|||I'd go with the Honda but that's just me. The Honda does have a slightly larger gas tank and it's also a lighter bike. Possibly better mpg with the Honda? Not sure about that though.|||Hard to say which is better, in a race around the track it would really come down to which has the better rider. So it really comes down to personal preference. Personally, I like the Honda.|||Don't pay any attention to specs. They are numbers calculated by scientists in a lab somewhere. They mean nothing once the rubber hits the roads.

These bike have just about equal performance. Whichever bike is more comfy when you ssit on it, is the one you want.|||See the link below and scroll down to "Supersport Shootout"|||Engine performance are the same. they weigh the same. You just have to pick which one is comfortable and appealing to you. Personally, I go for Suzuki. it has a slight longer wheelbase that is better in handling. also, the Honda CBR600RR is bulkier, which is not my type.

Folks revelation is happening just now. you dont believe?

films:

Jesus will save Israel from its ennemies.Jesus will save Israel when it will be next to disappear from the map.Jerusalem enclosed and the anti-Christ already seat in the temple in the holy of the Holies saying that he is Jesus and after had already killed near all the Jews only surviving 144000 .

It s possible that Iran has already the nuclear bomb.

get out of Israel.

cuisines:

Israel will attack the Iran 's nuclear installations and will start a fast war with nuclear explosions .a man will appear and will do an agreement between Arabs and Israeli and will have a 7 years government. Jews will think he is the messiah and will even build the 3rd temple he will impose the mark (electronic chip) without anyone can buy or sell .at the 7 years middle he will show his true face and orthodox Jews will see that the were deceived .from there he will start the worst genocide that have already happen, before that the true believers will be raptured .|||First, the Book of the Revelation is not in code. John was probably just seeing some things that had no basis for reality in his day and could only describe them within his perspective. It makes it a bit more complicated, but not any less understandable than any other book of the Bible.

Second, the beginning of the 7 years of tribulation will be marked by several things, most notably the rapture of the church (true born-again Christians) and a time of world peace. Last I checked, neither of those things has happened.

No man knows the day or the hour. We're just told to be ready when Christ returns.|||Revelations is one of the most misunderstood books of the bible. Revelations was written when persecution of the Christians was beginning, the whole thing is written if you will in a code, since one wouldn't want a jesus faith document falling into the wrong hands and be used against the enclaves of new christians. It doesn't mean what it says literally.

~lol this is true, isn't it?

A helicopter was flying around above Seattle yesterday when an electrical malfunction disabled all of the aircraft's electronic navigation and communications equipment.

The pilot saw a tall building, flew toward it, circled, drew a handwritten sign, and held it in the helicopter's window. The pilot's sign said "WHERE AM I?" in large letters.

People in the tall building quickly responded to the aircraft, drew a large sign, and held it in a building window. Their sign said "YOU ARE IN A HELICOPTER."

The pilot smiled, waved, looked at his map, determined the course to steer to airport, and landed safely.

After they were on the ground, the co-pilot asked the pilot how the "YOU ARE IN A HELICOPTER" sign helped determine their position in Seatle.

The pilot responded "I knew that had to be the MICROSOFT building because, similar to their help-lines, they gave me a technically correct but completely useless answer."|||LMAO ... ahhh thats sooo true, and id like to take this brief moment to apologize for not be with it these last few days and answering all your questions... im sowi :( but im back :D|||Typical Microsoft lol|||Good deduction|||FUNNY|||Hehehe :)|||LMAO !!!!! hahahhaa|||hehehehehehe

Question for all the drummers out there?

I want to start by saying that I don't assume that what I'm doing is really the same as playing drums "for real" but I want to get as close as I can. I am trying to set up my Rock Band 2 premium drum kit to mimic as closely as possible an electronic setup that would be used by a professional (www.drumrocker.com for the description of the kit). I would like some help as to where to set up the cymbal pads (which are mapped to one ride, a high hat, and one crash) so as to be as realistic as possible.|||A 'typical' set up would be, Hi-hat to the left of snare, Ride in the vicinity of the Floor-Tom and next highest Tom. Crash could go over the highest Tom (by Hi-hat). Now that I looked at the site.....pretty much how they have it pictured. Those are the basic areas, but the stands are adjustable so you can set it up just right for your size/reach and comfort-ability.

Alien Invasion, movie Skyline, Indepence Day, War of the Worlds, etc.?

I am by nature a skeptic, but I am also very gifted with math and science. I know many people do not believe there could or is life out in the universe, and so on, but for me I can't imagine how life could not exist. So if you are someone who thinks alien life is impossible just skip this. I am very familiar with Frank Drake's equation, and when one considers 75% of our water came from comets, and we know from the recovered camera on the moon that microbial life can survive space. It seem very logical, given a Universe ~14B years old, and our planet only 4B of that, that life surely could have had many life-spans elsewhere. I think the problem is intelligent life. My internal guess is that we would find only 1 in 1 Billion plus planets with life to have intelligent life. My guess comes from the number of life forms that existed here that reach the point to plant a flag on the moon. So even with that, 10B^10B+ suns out there, that is enough 0's to make a book.

Anyway, I do agree with Mr. Hawking that sending a pulsar-star map saying "here we are" is kind of like throwing your window out the window in a random neighborhood. Eventually WE will be these evil invading aliens, so why no another race who got their start 6 Billion years ago? Can you even begin to imagine the technology advancements of 2 billion years? We won't even look like we do now. In fact, we would probably look closer to the "grays" given our life-style trends. Look outside? ewww!

First, would an alien race want our planet? The answer is you bet! Would you pick up a $20 bill on the floor? Our planet has an incredible supply of Hydrogen. The building block amazing element locked in our oceans. Not only Hydrogen, but the temperate climate is very ideal. So my personal assumption is that if an alien race existed, knew about us, and could get here....well.....

I laugh when I see movies which show us out-smarting an alien race, especially writing a computer virus to a "mother-ship" talk about Bill Gates pulling overtime.. I thought of how silly it would be for a caveman to throw a spear at a tank. He doesn't know it isn't an animal, he doesn't know what a diesel engine is, he doesn't know what a shell is, the list goes on. Being an electronic engineer, we can't even keep up with our own code and processors, let alone one 100 to 2 billion years advanced. Anyway, I digress. There are a lot of theories about what would happen if an alien race came upon us and wanted to rid the ants (us). The odds that their natural home atmosphere being even remotely like ours is way too small. Unless they want to preserve any life, which is pretty useless really, they would most likely simply terraform our atmosphere, killing everyone, no matter where you hide, or what altitude you try to escape to. Suppose theirs is 7% Oxygen, 20% CO2, 3% ammonium gas, 60% Nitrogen, and 10% Helium. How long would you last in that atmosphere? So all the Hollywood sci-fi about infantry like devices with shields are so unnecessary. Even worse, perhaps they just remove our atmosphere, or ionosphere. Simple. This is how we would know we are done for. The US gov. is not going to tell us there is a massive mother-ship full of aliens who are looking for a new home, or to fuel up at our big blue 7/11. So perhaps we notice odd shapes in the sky and within hours everyone is coughing up blood, and passes out. Then maybe they scorch the earth to rid all the bodies, which wouldn't rot since the planet would be sterile. Fresh start. Isn't this what we do to new places we want to build? If you where an ant in an anthill where a new hotel is planned who is going to win? The movie Skyline I think was great for special effects, but mainly for one thing. We didn't win. Let's face it, an advanced civilization is not going to consider us equals, or worth negotiating with, no more than we would with the ants.

This is just my opinion. I welcome arguments....|||My speculation is not the same as yours. I do believe aliens exist and I believe we already made contact with more than one species of aliens. Our signals can travel faster and longer than any space ship, I would think the aliens have similar, but more advanced methods. But we can also speculate that they're already here, walking among us with some esoteric agenda. Haven't we been getting a lot more public sightings recently? We had that one in China that shut down the airport; China disclosed it. We just had the mystery missile in the US, the government won't discuss the details except to say "it's not a threat to national security". There are a lot more I cannot remember the names and places of, but you'd find them by looking it up on youtube or something. We HAVE been seeing strange things in the sky.

I don't believe all species of aliens are bad, after all there is some good in human beings and I'd like to assume the gift of a brain inquires choice; a sense of right and wrong and an understanding between what should be done and what has to be done. I favor the "Day the Earth Stood Still" method over "Independence Day" resort. There might be a good species of aliens first that notice us. After all, wouldn't a morally bound race be more advanced than a greedy one?

Human beings would be much further along in our advancements if those in power were less selfish. There are two paths to advance technology, one could either follow Thomas Edison or Nikola Tesla. Though Tesla's way consisted of free (unlimited) energy and Edison required the use of fossil fuels. Because money was involved we lost out on the possibility of free energy, powerful bankers like J.P. Morgan funded Edison because it brought about more profit. I wouldn't doubt that the alien beings rely more so on Tesla's techniques than combustible fuels to power their space ships.

Clearly any alien race would know what we know plus some, so there wouldn't be much of a point, they'd be on the losing end of the deal if we traded information. They might already know how to bend space and time and find ways to teleport or warp through space, splitting the distance. A long time ago, humans sent out signals containing out DNA and genomes, so by chance an alien race caught the signal, they already know our weaknesses.

If it was an evil race of aliens determined to take over our planet, I'm not sure mass extermination would be the way to do that. I'm sure diminishing the human race would be one way, but I think they'd find use for our species such as a slave race. Maybe they're working on a way to lower the population, like is suggested on the Georgia Guide Stone... for all we know, they paid to put those tablets there. Destroying the ionosphere would kill most people off, but it would also kill all plant life and animal like, I don't think hydrogen would be the only resource they were after and taking out the ionosphere would just drastically change the climate on the planet to the point they may not even want it anymore. With unlimited technologies, they might even know how to control a planet, thus they'd realize how fragile a life sustaining world could be. I think the most efficient way would be to genetically alter viruses, kill humans, but leave the rest of the planet up for grabs.

I have no answers, but just the belief that they're already here. You said it yourself, the government wouldn't tell us, so how do we know they're not here now? Human technology, I was told, has advanced too quickly within the past 60 years, I wouldn't be a bit surprised if we reverse engineered some higher technology or was given it by higher beings in exchange for something else... but what do we have that they could possibly want? Loyalty? Our government's not stupid enough to go to war with a space faring race thousands (If not millions) of years more advanced; upon facing the threat of extermination I think they would much rather agree to be loyal to them. But to avoid panic from the masses, they don't tell us and slowly try to gain control of the planet into global hegemony. So is it possible those in the government are really just working for a higher power? I know it's a scary thought, one that you probably don't even want to consider. This isn't necessarily my opinion, but I wouldn't overlook it.

We can even look into the Ancient Alien theory and wonder if there's some truth to that. I hate the idea of forfeiting the theology of God to aliens; but just for speculatory purposes, suppose aliens did land here a long time ago. Either because of their unspeakable technologies viewed by primitive man they were thought of as gods, or aliens knew the destructive behavior of man and implimented religion as a barrier for moral aspects. This would bring about the suggestion that religious deities were a form of Star Child.|||Sticking the original topic, re: more advanced aliens having an interest in earth, I feel the movie %26amp; scifi stories are rather naive and severely limited by our own severely limited %26amp; naive human point of view when it would come to... Them up there.

If I was an alien commander, sent here to eradicate humanity to claim earth for my "empire" or whatever, the most STUPID way to do that would be to land there and basically say "lets you n me fight!" If you look at it properly, that amounts to 1st grade playground war rules.

So how would I attack earths' humanity? I would do it in a way that had no danger for me at all, and in a way that humanity could do absolutely nothing to prevent or stop, or recover from.

What comes to mind? Well, if I have already mastered interstellar/interplanetary travel, I would simply take a trip to our asteroid belt, push several 50 mile wide asteroids on a collision course with Earth, then sit back %26amp; enjoy the fireworks show. Absolutely nothing humanity could do about that (Independance Day movie aside-LOL), and no danger to me.

To actually GO THERE and demean myself with personal contact would be like us trying to get rid of a wasp nest..by building little technologically superior ufos to zap them one at a time, that are small enough to actually be swarmed %26amp; defeated by the wasps in some way! See? Thats really a dumb way to do it- actual wasp exterminators get rid of them in a way that is no risk at all for the exterminator, and in a way that the wasps can do nothing about.

So yes, my version of alien attack on Earth would be "astronomers detected 210 'earth killing' sized asteroids on a collision course with Earth-oddly they are all arranged to strike at the same moment! WOW! Hey! so there IS intelligent life out there! We have yet to detect any UFO's at all at this point, though..so, I guys we're doomed"

;) makes for a boring movie, but probably more realistic!

Here is one "comforting" point to make, though: MAYBE that is the thing that makes humanity so special/monstrous in the"galactic" neighborhood...and is the SAME reason that the others dont want to talk/show themselves to us: only humanity is capable of even IMAGINING SUCH A VIOLENT AND BRUTAL ATTACK PLAN IN THE FIRST PLACE! And I'm no strategic genius-I'm just your average typical humanbeing, sitting here in my living room, thinking for a whole 5 minutes how I would wipe out an entire worlds' population safely %26amp; absolutely- and that came to me easily.

So, in the end, we could actually be seeing everything backwards: we aren't the helpless inferior technological species...we are the terrifying monstrous species that could kill their neighbors with the right (rather weak) justifications, the ones who would actually conceive, design and make thousands of nuclear bombs, and yet who haven't killed themselves off yet! Yikes, right? If I was an alien commander, tasked with getting rid of those such as us, I wouldn't even give them the opportunity to launch their nuclear arsenal at me.

There are better ways to crush a planet, to eradicate a violent species. Hehe..lets just hope I'm not REALLY that alien commander up there, showing my hand, using earths internet, smiling wickedly as the rocks are already on their way! ;%26gt;|||1) stop with the coffee, it's making you paranoid.

2) Independence day was only a movie, I loved it but I never believed it. The "Virus" was an in Joke, an homage, to anybody who read HG Wells' "War of the Worlds" where the martians were killed by common cold virus.

3) the chances of anybody finding the Voyager data is Zero

4) If Aliens are common, the chances of one being within 500 ly is remote, about the same as me being killed by a tiger in the UK.

.|||Aliens won't be coming for our hydrogen. There's a lot of places in the universe to pick up that stuff.

Aliens won't be coming here for our temperate clime. They prefer far more ammonia in their atmosphere.|||So much to read. Yikes.

Hey, its a free country, you are welcome to believe whatever you like. Believing Flying Saucers filled with aliens carrying little blasters aimed at us Earthlings is okay, I guess. However unlikely.

Seriously, besides the part about Drake's Equation, which is crap, its hard to argue that somewhere in the vast Universe there might be life, but don't you think there is really no way to find out? The words "vast Universe" might be your first clue. If you believe Einstein was right, then interstellar travel is pretty damned unlikely.

Still, you are welcome to believe that the whole Universe is full of Little Green Men and that they like to perform experiments on hillbillies with orientation issues. Maybe the crystal implants are really alien "Bark Off" units, designed to shut people up like we collar a noisy dog? Heh, I guess you really don't need any more ideas for conspiracy theories, right?

Post some pictures of your tin foil hat collection, okay?|||no alien species, unless it exists in our own solar system, will ever be able to travel here... and vice versa.

when cross communication with a species 20 light years away takes... well, 40 years for a response, it pretty much means it it completely irrelevant if they exist or not. heck, perhaps the universe is SWARMING with life around every single star.

it's still going to take 75,000 years for the closest aliens to get here.

i'd also argue, you can't assume the universe was ripe for life to form int he first 10 billino or so years. a universe composed of only hydrogen and helium, and minor amounts of deuterium is not going to instantaneously create life. you need heavier elements. at least two generations of supernaove (6-10 billion years) to generate enough "heavy elemtns" to establish life.

now, life could be vastly different than what we think it is, in which case, maybe the aliens are inside of baryons.|||"Our planet has an incredible supply of Hydrogen".

Hydrogen happens to be the most common element in the universe, making up about 75% of it. There are gas giants made out of almost pure hydrogen. Comparatively, the earth has a scarcity of it. There are also whole moons made out of water ice. Titan is covered with hydrocarbons. The asteroids contain far more heavy metals. There's really nothing that the earth has that you can't find abundantly anywhere else in the universe, except life and the proper set of conditions for it. If they want to resettle on our planet, I doubt they'd be able to transport their entire population hundreds of trillions of miles through hard vacuum to do it. And if they could, they would certainly have the ability to terraform a planet instead of stealing it. Still, although I am unable to foresee any danger from extraterrestrials, it doesn't mean there aren't any.|||I do like the point of Interstellar travel, warp speeds %26amp; billion year old civilisations,

If they could travel to us would they, why is it we can't detect any sort of trace of high energy outputs from these wormholes, warp engines in our own galaxy's. How much is the governement holding back when it says scans the skies. As they say in Star Trek "Scan For Warp Signatures"

As for being prepared to battle aliens, i suppose any that travel here would be able to annilate us, i guess they would need some type of force field to travel at great speeds through spce, debris %26amp; micro comets %26amp; stuff, let alone space bugs on the windshield.

You do know the most powerful bomb ever detonated created a mushroom cloud 40 miles high, probablr devestated the surronding area, that was 50 Megatons, they were planning for 100 Megatons, but the russians ain't as crazy as they seem. so anyway that was what

So That was almost 40 years ago, 15 years of delevoping nucleare wepons creates a bomb with fireball 5 miles in diameter a shockwave was felt over 600 miles away, would of given 3rd degree burns over 65 miles away %26amp; the base of the cloud was 25 miles wide, that was when th ebomb was exploded at a height of 2.5 miles, on the floor that could of been made the destruction spred even further. So with todays technology a 200Megaton Or even 500 %26amp; 1 Gigaton Bomb would almost cripple a small country, england, scotland, wales, devastate most 3rd world coutries

But then you have to get these things to the aliens space ships, which would be armed with lasers %26amp; such what which would make our rockets more deadly to us from emp blast to radiation fallout.

Aliens, warp speed %26amp; billion year old civilizations, well one thing at a time eh,

Trip Computer|||I like how they listed standard equipment as if they were options.|||That depends on what country you are in, I wouldn't pay that much for the TT with the standard four cylinder. In the U.S. that is overpriced but I don't know what things cost in your country. In the U.S. that car is worth like $40,000. Good Luck! BTW it is a very good car and I do like it!|||Nope.

I've driven TT's aplenty, and they aren't worth 10k.

They're heavy, their handling blows compared to other offerings, their power is okay but again, not stellar.... and moreover they're VW electronics. VW electronics suck.|||Nope it is not. It should be way cheaper with the current crappy economic conditions.|||Everything you have mentioned is standard in a base model TT and the price is way too much. That car should be around 40000. Mine is 2008 3.2 all wheel drive with options like bixenon adaptive headlights, Bose surround sound, nav system, park distance control,Ipod interface, bluetooth and best of all the magnetic ride. This car cost me 55,000 with tax and all .Standard is the 18 inch 10- spoke bicolor wheels, sirius sat radio, automatic spoiler, rain sensing wipers, courtesy lights etc. Check out the Audi website for standard and options but that price is A total ripoff..
