What are electronic mapping software that i can buy for my computer for business purposes?

I need an electronic mapping software that i can mark up and add notes. i want to be able to pull maps of the world, NYC boroughs, NYC as a whole, and the US as a whole and individual states. Is there anything out there like that that i can buy for my computer?|||Street Atlas is a good software for what you want to do. I use it all of the time without any problems. You can make notes, add points to any location in the US.

If it is just for you to find any place or routes to any particular place you can use online maps from http://www.maps.org/ or http:/maps.google.com/, there are sites which can also give you updates on the traffic (including any accidents if occured) like http://www.traffic.com/


But if you are looking out region specific maps for any of your software applications, you can get them from NAVTEQ or ArcIMS for which they will charge you.
